Being able to quickly and effectively communicate with multiple tenants can save you time, and helps all of your tenants feel informed. The Announcements feature empowers you to do just that, in a modern, visually appealing way. Whether you need to announce a community event, give a property-wide maintenance notice, reach out to overdue tenants etc., you’ll be able to use Announcements to get in touch.

How To Enable and Access Announcements

In order to enable Announcements, you’ll go to your Settings by clicking the gear icon located in the bottom left corner. On the General tab, you’ll be able to toggle on and off the setting to Enable Announcements.

 

Once enabled, you’ll just visit your Messaging page from the main menu to your left, then you’ll click the Announce tab.

Making an Announcement

In order to create a new Announcement, you’ll just begin typing into the field that has the placeholder “Make an announcement” text. You can add an image to your Announcement by clicking the picture icon, or insert an emoticon by clicking the smiley face icon, both located to the right of the text field.

 

By default, whoever you share your Announcement with will be able to leave comments or reactions. You’ll be able to disable either option by checking the corresponding boxes below the text field. If you check the box to Notify via E-mail, tenants will be sent a notification of the Announcement to their e-mail address.

 

From here, you’ll want to choose who to share your Announcement with. You can share it with Everyone, Current Tenants, Future Tenants, Overdue Invoices, or you can create a Custom List.

You’ll then select a Topic for your announcement, and set an Expiration date if you’d like. Announcements can be filtered by their topic later via the Topics section on this page.

Once you’ve made these selections, you can click Post, and the new Announcement will appear at the top of your feed.

 

As soon as your new Announcement is posted, tenants will receive a push notification on their mobile device if they have the mobile app installed. The tenant will also see that they have a new Announcement on their Dashboard once they log in to Innago. If they’re already on the Announcements page, the page will update with a message that says “New Posts”. They’ll be able to click this to see any Announcements that they haven’t viewed yet.

 

Announcement Actions

Once you’ve posted an Announcement, there’s several actions you can take on it. If you click the set of three vertical dots on the Announcement, you’ll access an action menu where you can currently Edit, Share a direct link, or Delete the Announcement.

Please note, if you delete an Announcement, it will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Expired Announcements are archived, but deleted Announcements are not.

You’ll be able to see the number of likes, comments, and views at the bottom of your posted Announcement. You can click on the Comments button in order to view any comments, and you can click the action menu associated with the comment if you’d like to delete it. You can click the Views button to see a list of tenants who have and have not viewed your Announcement yet.

Topics

Need to filter to specific Announcements you’ve made? You can use the Topics section to easily filter your Announcements.

You can also use the filter and search bar located near the top of the page to locate past Announcements as well.

What’s Happening

Your What’s Happening section is essentially a live activity feed for all of your Announcements. It will update whenever you post a new Announcement, whenever a tenant likes or comments on an Announcement etc. Any actions that take place on any of your Annoucements will appear in this feed. By default, this section will show you activity from the current week, but if you click on This Week, you’ll be able to filter activity by a different date range.
