Why am I asked for a 2FA code every time I sign in?
If you’re being prompted for a two-factor authentication (2FA) code each time you sign in—even after selecting “Remember this device”—it usually means your network is assigning a dynamic IP address.
When you mark a device as trusted, Innago recognizes it based on a combination of device and network details, including your IP address. If your internet provider uses dynamic IPs, your IP address changes frequently. Each time it changes, our system sees it as a new login location and requires you to re-verify with 2FA for security reasons.
How to fix this
-
Confirm your device is trusted:
Go to your Security Settings in Innago and make sure your current device appears under “Trusted Devices.” -
Check with your network provider:
Ask if your network is configured to use a dynamic IP address. If possible, request to switch to a static IP address so your IP remains the same.
Once your IP is static, Innago will be able to recognize your device for up to 30 days without prompting for 2FA again.
Other reasons you might still be asked for a 2FA code
Please note that a dynamic IP isn’t the only reason you might continue to see 2FA prompts. Other common causes include:
-
Public or shared WiFi networks (such as coffee shops, schools, or apartment buildings) that frequently change IP addresses.
-
Mobile devices using cellular data, since most carriers use non-static IPs for data connections.
-
Browser or device-specific privacy settings, such as clearing cookies, using incognito/private browsing modes, or enabling high-security extensions that prevent the system from saving “trusted” information.
Even though it can be a bit inconvenient, 2FA is one of the most effective ways to keep your account, finances, data, and tenants’ information secure. We appreciate your understanding as Innago takes a cautious approach to access and login protection—it’s all about keeping you and your business safe.
