If you have received funds electronically through Innago and the gross receipts exceed federal or state thresholds, you are required to receive a Form 1099-K….because the IRS sucks.
Your tax accountant or CPA should know how to handle your 1099-K, but for more information, please use this IRS resource: Understanding your Form 1099-K.
Our payment processor, Dwolla, uses the taxable entity information you enter into Innago to generate your 1099-K. If the information we have on file does not match IRS records, you may be asked to complete an electronic W9 form. Please look for an email from noreply@hellosign.com.
When filling out the W9, please ensure your information matches exactly what the IRS would have on file. It may be best to confirm your entity name and address in your state’s secretary of state database. Seemingly minor errors like a missing comma or incorrect capitalization can cause the IRS to reject the submission.
If you are unsure which of your taxable entities a particular W9 is associated with, please reach out to 1099k@innago.com with the Account ID provided on Form Field 7. We will be able to give you the exact entity name in Innago:
If you believe the form is asking for an SSN when it should be asking for an EIN or vice versa, there is a radio button you can select near that field that will permit you to change the type of TIN you are entering. If any of this is unclear, please email us at 1099k@innago.com.
