You can add an existing tenant to multiple leases/units within Innago.
However, you cannot add a tenant to multiple leases/units at once. If you would like to add a tenant to multiple leases, you’ll have to create those lease terms separately by following these instructions:
First, you would follow the same steps as highlighted here.
Then, you will have two separate options as to how you would like the invoices to appear for the tenant:
- Creating separate invoices for the tenant by adding the same tenant to two different leases/units and having the rent amounts listed under each individual unit. This will create an invoice under each lease/unit.Example: Jane Doe is listed as a tenant under Unit 1 and Unit 2. Each unit has rent listed as $200 under their lease term. Jane Doe will have an invoice for $200 for Unit 1 and another invoice for $200 for Unit 2.
- Creating one invoice for two separate leases/units would require the first lease term to be set for the total rent amount for both units. The second lease term the tenant is added to would require you to type $0 as the rent amount. Invoices will not be created for the second lease term.
Example: Marc Smith is listed as a tenant under Unit 1 and Unit 2. Marc is charged $400 for both units. Marc would have one invoice under Unit 1 for $400 and no invoice will appear for Unit 2.
