To move an existing tenant to another unit, you will first need to terminate your tenant’s current lease. To terminate their lease:

  1. From the Innago menu on the left, click ‘Properties.’

  2. Select the property and unit.

  3. Make sure the correct lease is selected.

  4. Below the section that lists the number of days remaining, you'll see a button that says 'Terminate.' Click the 'Terminate' button.

  5. Here, a calendar will appear. Select the date you'd like the lease to end and click the 'Terminate' button.

  6. This lease will automatically be terminated on the date you selected.

Once you have set a termination date for the tenant, you can go ahead and add this tenant to a new or existing unit. You can do this by:

  1. From the dashboard, click ‘Add Tenant’.

  2. On the left side of the screen, you’ll see a list of properties you’ve already added into Innago. Select the property to which you’d like to add a tenant and click ‘Next’. If the property is not listed, click ‘+ New Property’ to add it.

  3. After selecting the correct property, make sure you’ve chosen the right unit.

  4. Select the lease type and begin entering the lease start and end date (if it’s a fixed term lease)

  5. When entering the rent amount, you will be prompted to select the first date on which you would like a rental invoice to be due in Innago. Innago will only generate invoices that are due after that date.

  6. Once complete, review the terms of your lease in the summary section and, if everything looks good, click the button that says, ‘Add Tenant’.

  7. On this page, add tenant(s) by their email address. Since you tenant was previously added, their name and contact number will automatically populate once you’ve entered their email address.

  8. If you have screening services turned on, you will be prompted to select a screening level for each tenant. Select ‘Not Required’ to proceed (assuming you don’t need to screen tenants that are already renting from you!).

  9. You can also set rental splits and decide whether or not you’d like to accept partial payments.

  10. Once all tenant(s) have been added, click ‘Finalize Lease'.

  11. Here, you can send a digital lease out for signature or select ‘I don’t need to sign a lease through Innago’, which allows you to either upload a copy of a lease that has already been signed or skip this step entirely.

  12. Make your selection and complete the process. click ‘Complete Lease’.

  13. (Note – If you click 'Cancel' at any step, all your data will be lost.)

Your tenant will now be moved to your new unit!
